The Department of Psychology in HM College was established in 2010.Department offers both UG and PG in Psychology. The comprehensive degree course equips students to pursue higher studies, research and a vocation in the field of psychology. This process is facilitated by well qualified and experienced faculty members.
The methodology of teaching has evolved, incorporating modern teaching aids and continuous assessment which keeps students focused and well informed. The course work involves tests, exams, assignments, projects and paper presentations.
The Psychology Courses are designed with an objective to provide a sound theoretical foundation of the fundamentals of human behavior, get an insight on various forms of maladaptive behavior and therapies used to treat them, to enhance the self awareness of the students and to enable them to cope with the challenges in their personal and vocational lives and also to pursue research and career opportunities in the field of clinical practice, social work, management and personnel training, counseling, teaching, development of psychometric tests and geriatrics.

The psychology laboratory is well equipped with over 100 tests and instruments that are standardized in universities both in India and abroad. Physical facilities such as, OHP, LCD, smart board, computers and the Department library with 164 books are available for students to enrich their knowledge.
