Internal Complaint Committee (ICC)
1. Introduction
- At HM College Manjeri, we are committed to ensuring a safe, respectful, and harassment-free environment for all students, faculty, and staff. The Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) was established in line with the guidelines set forth by the Government of India to address and resolve complaints related to sexual harassment and other grievances in the college community.
2. Objectives of the ICC
- Prevent Harassment: Foster a safe campus environment by preventing incidents of harassment.
- Raise Awareness: Conduct workshops and awareness programs about sexual harassment, workplace conduct, and mutual respect.
- Provide Support: Offer guidance and support to those affected by harassment, ensuring confidentiality and sensitivity.
- Timely Resolution: Investigate and resolve complaints in a fair and timely manner.
3. Functions of the ICC
- Investigate complaints of harassment, discrimination, or misconduct.
- Conduct awareness sessions for students, faculty, and staff.
- Ensure confidentiality and support for complainants.
- Implement preventive measures to reduce incidents of harassment on campus.
4. Filing a Complaint
- Any member of the college community (students, faculty, or staff) who feels harassed or discriminated against can approach the ICC to file a complaint. Complaints can be filed through:
- In-Person: Visit the ICC office during office hours to speak with a member confidentially.
- Email: Send a detailed email to icchmcollege@gmail.com . All reports will be handled with confidentiality and respect.

Note: The ICC members are trained to handle complaints sensitively and maintain confidentiality throughout the complaint process.
6. Awareness Programs and Training
- The ICC organizes regular workshops and seminars to educate the college community on topics such as:
- Prevention of sexual harassment
- Gender sensitization
- Workplace conduct and respect
- These programs aim to create awareness and empower individuals to understand and respect boundaries.
7. Policy on Sexual Harassment
- The college has a zero-tolerance policy on sexual harassment. All complaints are investigated thoroughly, and disciplinary action is taken when necessary, in line with the Government of India’s guidelines on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act.
8. Confidentiality and Non-Retaliation
- The ICC ensures complete confidentiality of complaints and protects complainants from any form of retaliation. All investigations are conducted fairly and respectfully.
