The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a public service program governed by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. The scheme was launched in Gandhiji’s Centenary year, 1969. The main aim of National Service Scheme is to develop the personality of the students through community service. The National Service Scheme is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges, Universities and at +2 working for a campus-community linkage and for the personality development of the students. This program has been sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
HM College has one active NSS Unit(No 145) registered under University of Calicut. The units help the college to keep the campus more active by undertaking diverse and inspiring activities. Number of students’ enrolled is 50 students per year.
